PC Rig: Designing a Personalized Computer-Building Experience

PC Rig is a mobile application that enables users to tailor their computer systems to their specific needs by customizing various components, including CPUs, graphics cards, and RAM. This was a personal project where I handled everything end-to-end, from conducting user research and creating wireframes to establishing the information architecture and designing the visuals for the app.
Problem Statement
Building a custom PC is often confusing, with scattered information and complex choices. Users needed a simple, guided way to choose compatible parts and build a rig that fits their needs.
Proposed Solution
To make PC building simple and engaging, I designed a mobile app that allows users to explore, customize, and evaluate their rigs with ease. The solution includes a personalized feed that recommends top builds, a store section showcasing the latest components and compatible hardware, and an advanced build flow where users can handpick CPUs, GPUs, and memory options based on their needs. To keep users engaged, I added a rewards system, allowing them to earn and redeem points for merchandise. The overall design combines a gamer-focused aesthetic with intuitive navigation, ensuring both beginners and advanced users can build and optimize their rigs confidently.
